A few weeks ago, permits pointed out that Valleyfair was looking to replace their Enterprise ride with a Star Flyer. That rumor has now been confirmed as the park announced the "North Star."
North Star will reach a height of 230 feet and become the second tallest ride in the park next to Power Tower. Riders board a suspended 2-seat carriage, and spin around at speeds up to 40 mph, only to be carried up the large tower. The model is a Star Flyer ride by Funtime, much like the Six Flags parks have added in the past.
Of course, the ride is not a Windseeker, what most CF parks have traditionally installed. Those rides have become plagued with minor issues that have drawn national attention and are not worth the costs. Plus, the Star Flyer models installed elsewhere have brought in better reviews for being more "open air and precarious."
Replacing an Enterprise attraction is always a large task, but this ride should fit in its place like a glove
Reason: 5.5 is far from a bad rating, it is just mediocre. This is a one for one move by the park and doesn't do much to help them out. Why does it get a better rating than Dorney? Because it's new, and something the park has never had before. People were more or less expecting an attraction of this caliber, and it will be enjoyed by a large range of visitors.
